6 Rom Coms by Indie Authors + Bonus LOL PNR

So. I haven’t said much about this, but I’m self publishing the first book in my romantic comedy series, tentatively scheduled to release in February. Valentine’s Day, because, yes, I am a big ol’ hunka gooey cheese. But hey, my book bae Eros (AKA Cupid) is involved. How can I not?

The reason I’ve kept this info kinda low key is because I still have a few queries out. I’m pretty sure they’re both CNRs, though, so I guess consider this an official announcement.

I mean, there’s definitely no turning back now. My sparkly little manuscript has gone through an editor, proofing is underway… formatting is on the docket…and the cover is close to being sprinkled with the magic dust I keep stashed for special occasions. So, yeah, I’m self publishing, y’all!

Anyway, while I patiently (ha, ha, ha) await my release date, I thought now would be a great time to give some fellow indie rom com authors some love. And also, because I want some new swoony LOL books to read.

PSSSST… There’s a PNR by one of my favs at the end that combines LOLs with demons. I mean, COME ON.

ONE-NIGHT STANDS: SHE’S DOING THEM WRONG…

RULE #1: NEVER STAY THE NIGHT

Happy-ever-afters are for suckers, and Cat Keller ain’t no sucker. For years, she’s followed a set of rules–rules to keep things casual, to keep her heart safe. And she’s never broken them…until a one-night stand turns to two nights, then three, then…well, maybe she can bend just one rule.

RULE #2: NEVER BRING A BOY HOME

Jude Oliver–radio deejay and local heartthrob–was only looking for one night, too, and the cynic in red high heels seemed like just the girl to erase the taste of heartbreak from his lips. But with every night they spend together, Jude is falling for Cat. Soon, he’s ready to take the leap and love again. Can he convince her to jump with him?

RULE #3: NEVER…UH…WAIT, IT’S HERE SOMEWHERE

With his unwavering optimism and dimpled grins, Jude is defying Cat’s casual code. As she scrambles to hold onto her defenses, she can’t help but wonder if he’s the one guy worth breaking all her rules for.

Holly has spent her whole life as a walking disaster, from running into walls, tripping over invisible objects, and always being in the wrong place at the wrong time. When a seemingly normal outing taking her overly opinionated Corgi for a walk resulted in an object to the face, she didn’t think her day could get any worse. The moment she opened her eyes and saw the Adonis standing over her, she knew she’d been wrong. It was about to get a whole lot worse.

Ben’s lived his whole life disobeying his uptight, self-centered, shrew of a mother. Instead of going into the family business, he followed his dreams and opened his veterinarian clinic. One ordinary day at the dog park, and a rogue dog toy later, he found himself captivated by the curvy woman that had a feistiness which set him on fire.

It could only get better from here, right? Too bad his mother had other plans.

Lynn Scott

You know that super-hot guy from high school? The jock. The popular guy.
The one you fantasized about when you were supposed to be studying.
The ex-Olympic water polo player you expect to be married in his thirties to an ex-beauty queen and driving around Los Angeles in a Mercedes SUV full of kids.
The man who could never be as smart and fun as you.
The guy who is not supposed to ask you to hook-up during a party. (Correction: He commanded.) That’s Nick Willingham.

Even in my thirties with a thriving career, a great home, awesome friends, and a very green, holistic lifestyle, I still check the box: nerd.
And in what world does a nerd end up with the hot guy?

Nick Willingham

Lynn Scott is the woman who is not supposed to say yes.
The shy, polite writer who lives in San Francisco.
The woman you expect to be married or waiting for some man to choose her.
Yeah, that’s not Lynn.
And I want her.
I want whatever happy ending her brilliantly dirty mind and perfect mouth wants to create.
She’s decided that our thing is just a hook-up with an expiration date less than that of her favorite fresh-pressed green juice.
Lucky for me, I like to win.
But am I willing to take a wrecking ball to my meticulously handcrafted life to win her?

Looks can be deceiving in this hilarious enemies-to-lovers romcom complete with a shocking secret hobby, a heavy metal playlist, and an uninvited wedding guest!

Chris Everson has a pretty sweet life: a great job as a state trooper, lots of buddies to hang out with, and he lives at the beach. What could be better? But he’s harboring a secret–a secret that doesn’t fit with his whole tough guy cop persona. He’s gone to great lengths to keep his secret from his guy friends AND the women he dates.

Brynne Miller’s job as an ER doctor means she’s always meeting cops. In fact, she’s dated so many that her friends call her “Badge Bunny.” But she will never date Chris Everson. Nope. Not a chance. He managed to piss her off within two seconds of meeting him…and first impressions are everything.

Aren’t they?

This opposites attract romantic comedy is a must-read novella in the Beach Squad series featuring a sassy heroine and an alpha cop too serious to handle her. #BWWM

Jack

In my world as a cop, things were either black or white. Right or wrong. Then Bailey arrived, challenging all my principles. She had a mouth on her, the level of sass matching the exaggerated swing of her hips. I couldn’t get her out of my head, even knowing she wasn’t right for me. I tried to stay away, I really did. But once I had a taste, I kept coming back for more. Something didn’t add up though, and I would figure it out even if it ultimately meant we couldn’t be together.

Bailey

The only thing sexier than his dimple was the set of handcuffs the hottie detective threatened to use on me. If only he’d give me a chance to show him I was more than the tough-girl exterior I’d carefully crafted over the years. Oh yeah, and if I wasn’t engaged in criminal activity that would land me in handcuffs…and not in a sexy way. More like an orange jumpsuit way, and I can tell you now, no way in hell would I be caught dead in an ugly jumpsuit.

No matter which way this thing ends, I’ll be in handcuffs. The question is, will Jack join me in the grey area? Or will I have to do the impossible and admit I was wrong?

Trent’s heart may belong to Tina, but a shadow demon is after his soul…

Trent Austin is a successful, big-city lawyer. The last thing he needs is the burden of a run-down house in the suburbs. But when his crazy uncle dies and leaves his estate to Trent, he soon learns he’s inherited a lot more than a Victorian mansion. He’s got to get rid of the house–and the ghosts that came with it–before it kills him.

Tina Sanders is the best real estate agent in Michigan, so she shouldn’t be surprised when Trent calls her to sell his uncle’s house. But she hasn’t spoken to Trent since she dumped him three months ago. Her fear of commitment forced her to sideline Trent to the friend-zone, but the flames rekindle as soon as she sees him again. Despite her better judgement, she accepts the job and soon discovers her connection to the house runs deeper than the sexy lawyer who owns it.

Something in that house wants Trent dead. As he battles to win the affections of the sultry real estate agent, he’s also fighting for his life.

To Stop a Shadow is a steamy paranormal romance recommended for readers 18+. It is the second book in the Spirit Chasers series, but it can be read as a stand-alone and has a guaranteed happily ever after.
